Company Profile
92 million tonnes.
This is the amount of textile waste generated worldwide every year. Out of this, only a fraction finds new life.
What about the rest? It is treated as waste and, like all waste, ends up incinerated or dumped in landfills.
CDC Studio was created to overturn this linear logic and become the engine of a circular revolution in the textile sector.
It is, in fact, a hub for circular innovation in the management of textile and leather waste that develops technologies to ennoble and recycle textile warehouse remnants and processing waste, proposing a concrete solution to recover even the most difficult materials, such as mixed fibres, and give them new life under a different form.
CDC Studio's philosophy is based on the conviction that there is no waste, but only new opportunities to be discovered.
For this reason, the Tuscan hub has chosen to help companies see value and profit where others see clutter and waste, developing tailor-made solutions to deal sustainably with the burdensome problem of warehouse leftovers or processing waste disposal.
With Miktòs, CDC Studio created the world's first polymer composed of 100% mixed textile fibres, a sustainable alternative to virgin plastic for manufacturing companies, applicable to multiple sectors and infinitely recyclable.
With Cōēo, on the other hand, it has created a coating of recycled post-consumer packaging that gives a new finish to defective fabrics and leathers, prolonging their life and multiplying their possibilities of use.
CDC Studio's proposal - combining research, technology and creativity - is proof that an ethical choice can also be profitable: environmental protection is not only a social responsibility, but a competitive advantage in a constantly evolving market.
With CDC Studio's technologies, companies have the opportunity to improve their sustainability practices, enhance brand reputation and adhere to a circular economy model where nothing is wasted and everything is regenerated.
